I offer repair and restoration services for handmade wool rugs, ranging from simple fixes to more complex restoration work.

Common repairs include securing loose fringe ends and rewrapping worn side selvage cords — both quick, affordable fixes that prevent damage from spreading further into the rug and makes it safe to use on the floor.

More extensive repair and restoration may include reweaving areas from wear or moth damage, holes that require rebuilding the foundation, and rebuilding damaged side cords. I match wool texture, dyes, and knotting technique as closely as possible to the original.

Not every rug warrants the same level of work. I evaluate each piece based on its condition, age, and value. Suitability for repair or restoration may vary and I will recommend an approach that keeps cost reasonable relative to the rug.
