Vintage Persian Luri Rug

Origin: Lorestan or Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari Province, Iran, along the Zagros Mountains.

Age: 1970's, 50+ years old.

Size: 5 feet x 6 feet 9 inches.

Design: Geometric medallion, with floral designs in a geometric style. Many serrated oak leaves, flowers, and other abstract motifs.

Colors: Deep earthy colors of rust red, maroon, purple, orange, ivory, light and dark brown, light and dark green, indigo, black.

Foundation: Cotton warp and double cotton weft.

Pile: 100% hand spun wool, very dense and uniform knotting.

Knotting: Symmetrical knots

Condition: Good condition with minimal signs of wear, some slight dye migration in a few ivory areas. Freshly cleaned.
