Vintage Afghan Runner

Origin: Mashwani weaving from Afghanistan.

Age: Vintage, about 20-30 years old.

Design: Mixed weaving techniques of flatweave and pile, creating a sculpted and textured look to the piece. Geometric designs fill the field, of abstract stars and florals.

Colors: Brick red, deep maroon, blue, purple, orange, gold, light brown, green, ivory.

Foundation: Wool warps and double wool weft.

Pile: Mixed technique of wool flatweave and thick pile, large flatwoven bands on each end.

Size: 2 feet by 8 feet

Knotting: Asymmetrical.

Condition: Very good condition with few signs of use.
