Description

Origin: Village rug of Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari Province, Iran. Possibly Teshniz village.

Age: 1940-50, 75-85 years old.

Design: Mihrab design with a blooming floral vase/urn flanked by minarets and cypress trees.

Colors: Mostly natural vegetal dyes with the exception of an orange. Reds, pinks, indigo, light blue, green, yellow, brown, white, cream, ivory.

Foundation: Cotton warp and single cotton weft.

Pile: Uniform low pile, wool.

Size: 4 feet by 6 feet.

Knotting: Symmetrical

Condition: Distressed condition with areas of low pile and exposed foundation. Washed.
