Description
Origin: Village of Lilian, Markazi Province, Iran. Lilian was an Armenian village up until the late 1900s. The village dates back to the forced relocation of Armenians from the Caucasus by Shah Abbas in the 1600s.
Age: 1920s, 95-105 years old.
Design: Allover floral spray design
Colors: All natural vegetal dyes. Red, indigo, green, brown, orange/brown, ivory. A version made for the American market that was dyed with extra red dye on import.
Foundation: Cotton warp and single cotton weft.
Pile: Uniform medium pile with a very high luster, wool
Size: 3 feet 5 inches by 5 feet 2 inches.
Knotting: Symmetrical
Condition: Very good original condition.
