Description
Origin: City of Malayer, Hamadan Province, Iran.
Age: 1910-20 105-115 years old. Illegibly dated on the top left as 1238, but if the weaver meant to write 1328, that would convert from Hijri to about 1910, which appears correct.
Design: Allover boteh design with floral border.
Colors: All natural vegetal dyes. Red, pink, indigo, light blue, yellow, green, brown, ivory.
Foundation: Cotton warp and single cotton weft.
Pile: Uniform low pile with some exposed foundation.
Size: 4 feet 4 inches by 6 feet 3 inches
Knotting: Symmetrical
Condition: Fair, distressed condition with vibrant natural colors and antique patina. Ends and sides appear to have been secured sometime in the last decade or so. Freshly washed.
