Description
Origin: Kurdish village of Northwest Iran.
Age: 1900-1910, 115-125 years old.
Design: Allover repeating boteh designs with sprawling floral vine borders.
Colors: Mostly natural vegetal dyes. Reds, red-orange, indigo, green, yellow, browns.
Foundation: Wool warp and single wool weft.
Pile: Uniformly low wool pile.
Size: 3 feet 8 inches by 6 feet 4 inches
Knotting: Symmetrical
Condition: Good original condition with some wear to the flatwoven end bands, and an old stain on the top of the rug. The wear on the flatwoven bands has been secured and additional brown wool has been added to the side cords. Freshly washed. Blanket-like handle perfect for a furniture covering, but durable for the floor.
