Description
Origin: Kurdish village of Northwest Iran.
Age: 1900-1920, 125-105 years old.
Design: Geometric stepped medallion design with 8-pointed star border.
Colors: All natural vegetal dyes. Earthy tones of burnt reds, browns, indigo and ivory.
Foundation: Wool warp and single wool and goat hair weft.
Pile: Uniform medium pile with a few areas foundation exposed.
Size: 3 feet 7 inches by 5 feet 9 inches
Knotting: Symmetrical
Condition: Good condition with some wear to the field, revealing parts of the wool and goat hair weft with a pleasing patina. The ends have been freshly secured, side cords wrapped in indigo wool, and washed. Ideally suited for a wall hanging or furniture covering.
